About

Sophie is an associate in the firm’s Corporate and M&A team. Her wide range of experience includes working with companies, both sell-side and buy-side, on a variety of corporate matters including equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and group restructuring. She works with a range of individuals, public and private companies and institutions on UK and cross-border transactions.

She has recently completed a six-month secondment with Virgin, where she took on the role of in-house Legal Counsel. Sophie gained a broad range of experience, including advising on various corporate, commercial and property matters.

Experience

  • Mainspring Fund Services: Advising certain shareholders of Mainspring Fund Services on the acquisition of the company by Apex Group, a global financial services provider.
  • Impact Futures: Advising Guy Helman and other majority shareholders of Impact Futures and The Childcare Company (a national training provider delivering apprenticeships and vocational qualifications) on an investment into the group by August Equity.
  • Firebrand Training: Advising specialist IT and Digital training company, Firebrand Training, on its acquisition by global leader in professional and vocational education, BPP Education Group.
  • Octopus Investments: Advising in relation to the acquisition of Swish Fibre Limited, together with a long-term £250 million funding deal set to transform full-fibre broadband access in the UK.
  • Premier Asset Management Group PLC: Acting for this retail asset manager on its merger with Miton Group plc, to create a new group with some £11.5 billion of assets under management.
  • Renewable energy companies: Advising various renewable energy companies on disposals and acquisitions of renewable energy SPVs.
