We have advised Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust (ORIT) on its new £100 million five-year-term loan facility with three of its existing lenders, Santander, National Australia Bank and Allied Irish Banks. The financing, secured against ORIT’s onshore wind and solar assets in the UK, will be used to pay down a portion of its existing Revolving Credit Facility debt.
Advising ORIT on the legal side was a multi-disciplinary team from across Burges Salmon’s Banking and Finance, Corporate and Projects teams, led by partners Graham Soar, Camilla Usher-Clark, James Phillips and senior associate Alison Logan.
Graham Soar comments: “It has been a pleasure to work again with ORIT, to secure this significant loan facility. Our extensive expertise in all aspects of energy sector debt finance meant we were well-placed to facilitate a smooth and efficient transaction.”
Combining sector knowledge with banking and finance expertise, Burges Salmon provides tailored advice to support lenders and borrowers on complex financing transactions in the UK and internationally. The firm’s energy capabilities were recognised in Clean Energy Pipeline’s annual Legal League Tables with Burges Salmon ranked as the second most active law firm in clean energy M&A deals and in the top 10 Project Finance table, having completed 18 transactions, totalling £936 million.
