The health, safety and wellbeing of our people is a priority for us at Burges Salmon. We want our people to have a great work environment whilst feeling supported with an emphasis placed on their physical and mental health.
Our people are our main asset and the key to delivering the excellent client service for which we are recognised. Their health and wellbeing brings additional benefits in terms of family life, reducing potential burdens placed on public services and supporting the welfare of the communities in which we live and work.
We have a qualified health and safety professional who conducts risk assessments, advises the firm and enables a structured approach to the management of health and safety, including near-miss reporting. Our internal network of BSafe Champions work with our people on the ground to address health and safety matters.
Our approach to wellbeing is focused across four areas: physical, mental, financial and emotional relationships. It is promoted through a variety of internal channels including our BWell network.
We support our people by providing private healthcare assessments, flu vaccinations, flexible working, an on-site GP, subsidised sports clubs and memberships, an employee assistance programme and a wellbeing fair. Increasing emphasis is being placed on mental health and a number of our people have become trained mental health first aiders.
