We have advised longstanding client Yeo Valley, the largest organic food brand in the UK consumed by over ten million households a year, on its acquisition of innovative, taste-led yoghurt brand, The Collective including Epicurean Dairy (UK) Limited and Epicurean Dairy (UK) IP Limited. The Collective is renowned for its range of high-quality Gourmet yoghurts and Suckies pouches for kids.
Advising on the acquisition was a multi-disciplinary team from Burges Salmon led, on the Corporate and M&A side, by partner Nick Graves, senior associate Oli Gingell and solicitors Harriet Lucas and Ceren Ghanem. The deal, which was conditional on approval from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority, required careful input from Burges Salmon’s Competition and Intellectual Property teams, led by partners Chris Worrall and Helen Scott-Lawler respectively. The deal also involved Burges Salmon’s Corporate Tax team.
Nick Graves, head of Corporate at Burges Salmon, comments: “We are proud to have played an integral role in advising Yeo Valley on this significant deal. The transaction showcases Burges Salmon’s cross-disciplinary expertise at its best, with our one-team approach and collaborative spirit really shining through, as we worked side-by-side with Yeo Valley.”
Sarah Whiers, Finance Director at Yeo Valley, adds: “The acquisition of The Collective marks a significant milestone for us and wouldn’t have been possible without the support and expertise from the whole Burges Salmon team. We are thrilled with the outcome and excited about the future prospects this acquisition brings to Yeo Valley and our customers.”
