International overview

The United States is a key focus of our international practice and our clients include numerous companies and multi-national businesses with significant US interests.

As well as providing our US clients with UK sector and specialist legal advice across all three UK Jurisdictions (England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) we have a multitude of experience co-ordinating and project managing multi-jurisdictional advice for our US clients, particularly across the European jurisdictions.

We have a long history of assisting our UK clients in their activities across these diverse continents, particularly the US. Our non-exclusive relationships with leading law firms throughout the region reflect that history and have been developed over many years of collaboration. Many of our partners have extensive experience of working with US businesses and travel regularly in the region. We operate a transatlantic secondment/exchange programme with a key US relationship firm which gives our senior lawyers an invaluable understanding of the US legal environment.

We regularly work with the best law firms in the Caribbean and other offshore jurisdictions to deliver advice related to fund and asset management, private client services (international succession, real estate and wealth structuring, international tax, international trusts, personal immigration) and tax.

Burges Salmon has a growing South and Central America practice and we work with some of the leading law firms in the region. We know the right firms with local knowledge and the relevant sector and specialist expertise to ensure that our clients can appropriately manage risk and maximise the opportunities in this dynamic and exciting region.
