Burges Salmon’s Net Zero Services team has provided commercial legal advice and due diligence for the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Bowerhouse II Solar Limited from Hive Ethical Solar Portfolio 1 Limited by Kent County Council, via its wholly owned subsidiary Commercial Services Kent Limited (CSKL). Using our extensive experience advising clients in the renewable energy sector we ensured a smooth and timely completion of the deal.

The outcome
The Bowerhouse II Solar Farm has the capacity to have 39,312 solar panels and will provide 22,000 megawatt hours of green electricity to the grid a year. We have helped Kent County Council, via CSKL to achieve a landmark acquisition that will deliver significant benefits to the local low carbon economy and environment. The 38 hectare (94 acre) solar farm will massively reduce carbon emissions whilst saving energy costs for Kent County Council.
