In our recent briefing, Insurance reform – redress when insurers pay late, we considered provisions in the Enterprise Bill giving policyholders the right to claim damages from insurers for losses suffered as a result of insurers not paying claims within a reasonable period of time. This is of particular importance to business continuity insurance or insurance of business critical operations.
The Enterprise Bill has now received Royal Assent and will come into force on 4 May 2017 as the Enterprise Act 2016.
