Last week, 24 January, Burges Salmon ran its fourth annual B-Innovative Week, bringing the firm’s people together to explore and be inspired by the latest technologies and approaches to innovative client service delivery.
The theme for B-Innovative Week this year was ‘Creativity and Digital Mind-set’. The event enabled Burges Salmon employees to discover creative thinking skills and saw a variety of exclusive events taking place at the firm.
A tailored, entertaining and interactive 45-minute keynote talk from James Taylor – an award-winning speaker and internationally recognised leader in creativity and innovation – on how leveraging creativity provides a distinctly human competitive advantage in this new world, sparked interesting discussions on the potential impacts of human curiosity and collaboration.
The firm also produced a number of on-demand learning modules for its people focusing on a range topics relating to creativity and the digital mind-set, including how to ‘Get Creative with Teams’, ‘Paperless Working’ and ‘Understanding Client Service Delivery Legal Technology’ as well as an explanation of interesting topics such as ‘The future of AI’ and ‘Innovation and Technology Trends in the Legal Market’.
People across the firm also had the opportunity to attend and a virtual whistle-stop tour of the firm’s innovative technology platform,
BScale, hosted by David Varney, a Director in the firm’s Technology and Communications team. This session provided insight into the app, which provides legal services for start-ups, scale-ups, founders and investors, to support fast-growth companies in the technology sector throughout their life-cycle.
Innovation Manager at Burges Salmon, Emma Sorrell, comments: “
B-Innovative shines a spotlight on innovation and technology and is intended both to inspire our people and, importantly, to give everyone actions they can take forward in their day to day work. The high engagement across the firm with B-Innovative Week shows there is real interest from our people in being curious, enhancing their digital skills and exploring their creativity, and ultimately improving client service delivery.”
