Energy sector experts from Burges Salmon have advised Belectric GmbH on the sale of three further solar projects – Atherstone, Paddock Wood and Southam, located in Warwickshire and Kent – which were previously owned by a Joint Venture company between First Solar GmbH and Belectric GmbH.
Belectric GmbH, a world leader in the construction of solar power plants, sold the solar projects, with an aggregate output of 34MW, to a Joint Venture between Foresight and the community benefit solar group co-operating with Belectric, Big60Million.
The Burges Salmon team was led by Corporate partner Richard Spink and senior associate James Pinney, with assistance from lawyers from the firm’s Real Estate team.
Burges Salmon has also recently advised Belectric UK on the acquisition of the 41 MW Wroughton Airfield Solar Park from a Joint Venture between Swindon Borough Council and the Science Museum Group.
Richard said: 'We are very pleased indeed to have helped Belectric on three further solar transactions, following our work on the Wroughton acquisition, and, separately, the disposal of the Landmead and Turweston projects to Foresight earlier this year. We are very proud to have worked on more than 400 solar projects, and to be ranked number one in the European Clean Energy Pipeline advisory deals tables for the second year in a row, working alongside successful clients such as Belectric.'
