The Corporate team at independent UK law firm Burges Salmon has advised growth funder BGF on a £15.5 million investment in property developer Burrington Estates.
Headquartered in Exeter, Burrington has grown into a £70 million-turnover business, with a well-established reputation in the South West having completed more than 400 homes in the region during the past five years. The investment is set to support the expansion of the developer’s New Homes business in both the South West and the Midlands, as well as the continued development of Burrington’s commercial division.
Tim Roberts, Burges Salmon Corporate Finance director, led the team advising on the transaction with support from associate Isaac Paine and specialists from across the firm’s Real Estate, Banking and Employment practices.
James Skade, BGF investor, comments: “Burrington Estates is a really exciting investment for BGF – as a progressive and forward-thinking property developer, both the residential and commercial divisions are bringing a fresh approach to the sector and have impressive plans for growth. We look forward to being part of that journey. Burges Salmon were fantastic throughout the transaction and the advice they provided from their multi-disciplinary teams was extremely valuable.”
Tim adds: “It’s been a pleasure to work with longstanding client BGF on such an exciting investment. Burrington has impressive growth plans and a strong pipeline, and the investment and insight from BGF will support the business in reaching its ambitious goals.”
