Real Estate and Corporate experts from Burges Salmon have advised Darwin Leisure Property Fund on its acquisition of Aberconwy Holiday Resort and Spa on the North Wales coast.
A longstanding client of the firm, Darwin Leisure Property Fund invests in UK holiday parks. It acquires, develops and manages holiday parks with the aim of providing investors with predictable, stable, long-term returns and low-risk capital appreciation. The Fund has been a client of the firm since it bought its first park in 2007. It now has 19 parks and a fund size of more than £300 million.
The Aberconwy Resort and Spa is situated near to the historic town of Conwy and comprises 292 holiday pitches in a landscaped setting that borders a popular sandy beach.
The Burges Salmon team was led by Real Estate Investment partner Rick Read and Corporate senior associate Tim Roberts. They were assisted by solicitors Emily Bosson and Richard Alexander.
Richard Read said: “We were delighted to act for Darwin on this project. It was a complex project which required careful handling and sensitive steering through all of the legal issues. It was delivered on time and on budget at a crucial time in the client’s history, and we were delighted to be part of the client team.”
