Nuclear energy sector experts from Burges Salmon have advised the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) on the disposal of land to NuGen, the nuclear new-build developer for land at the Moorside site near Sellafield.
Following successful site suitability studies the scheme envisages the construction of three new Westinghouse AP1000 reactors and it will be a major infrastructure project in the UK.
It is anticipated that Moorside will eventually deliver seven per cent of the UK’s future electricity.
The high profile deal has received widespread media coverage across the nuclear and energy sector. For further details see the NDA website or contact Ian Salter at Burges Salmon.
