Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon has advised Rotterdam-based Royal Sens, a leading provider of labels and packaging across Europe, on its acquisition of Tipografic, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of wet glue paper and reel-fed BOPP labels. The merger creates an organisation able to provide enhanced service levels across the UK and continental Europe.
Burges Salmon worked closely with leading Dutch law firm Houthoff in advising Royal Sens on the acquisition. The Burges Salmon team was led by corporate partner Richard Spink and senior associate Amy Carr, supported by Chloe Adil and others on corporate aspects. Chris Worrall and Shachi Nathdwarawala led on competition advice.
Richard comments: “We’re delighted to have been able to advise Royal Sens on its exciting acquisition of Tipografic. The combined business paves the way for a wider expansion in the UK and enables the creation of a long-term partnership with benefits to both organisations and their customers. The UK remains an attractive jurisdiction for many buyers and we have long standing experience advising international clients targeting the UK for growth. As a result, we were really well placed to guide Royal Sens through the complexities, working closely with Houthoff, its Dutch advisers, to navigate the process to completion.”
Sander Koster, CEO at Royal Sens, adds: "We are very pleased with the acquisition of Tipografic and have been impressed by the quality of the operations and the strength of the organization. We foresee a strong partnership between Royal Sens and Tipografic that will provide long term stability for our respective employee base and superior quality and service for our customers. In the transaction we were well supported by several advisory teams, principal amongst them was the legal team from Burges Salmon and Houthoff. Their professionalism, robustness and resilience made a real difference in bringing the transaction to completion."
