Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon has advised Finland-based UPM Raflatac, a global supplier of self-adhesive paper and film products, on its £146 million acquisition of Metamark, a UK-based manufacturer and distributor of graphics solutions. The deal accelerates UPM Raflatac’s growth in the graphics market, making it a significant player in the fast-growing, high value-added Graphics segment.
Established in 1992 and employing around 185 people, Metamark’s high-quality product portfolio brings major synergies and enhances UPM Raflatac’s overall competitiveness, complementing the business’ sales and distribution network to support its ambitious global growth trajectory.

Danny comments: “This transaction exemplifies the attractiveness of the UK market for global businesses targeting further growth and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this acquisition will have on both UPM Raflatac and Metamark as they embark on this collaborative journey. Our experience working with international clients to implement a variety of complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions meant we were well placed to guide UPM Raflatac through this important transaction for the business as it continues its expansion into the exciting global graphics market.”
