The panel is for use by Local and Regional Government and devolved administrations. It can also be used by health, education, emergency services, third sector and social housing organisations.
Burges Salmon has been appointed for Lot 2, Full Service – England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and Lot 4, Rail.
Lot 2 covers advice across 17 mandatory specialisms, including public law, banking and finance, contracts, employment, infrastructure, litigation and dispute resolution, public procurement, property, real estate and construction and tax. Burges Salmon will also be able to advise on a broad range of optional specialisms, including projects, education law, health and healthcare and transport law.
Lot 4 includes advice on rail transport law, rolling stock, planning and authorisation and projects and infrastructure.
The appointment is for three years with the option to extend for one year. It will run alongside the CCS legal panel agreements already in place for use by Central Government departments and their associated bodies. Burges Salmon was appointed to Tier 1 of the General Legal Services panel in March 2017.
John Houlden, Head of the Public Sector team at Burges Salmon, says: “The public sector is one of our strategic priorities and so we are delighted to be appointed to this panel. The panel will give the wider public sector a clear route to market for their legal needs. Our appointment is testament to our specialist expertise and strong public sector credentials, as we are one of the few firms to also be on Tier 1 of the government’s General Legal Services panel for Central Government bodies.”
