Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon has advised Santander UK, Triple Point and Rabobank on the construction financing of a further battery energy storage owned and managed by global clean energy enterprise TagEnergy. The Burges Salmon team was led by Banking partner Graham Soar and Projects partner Alec Whiter, supported by senior associates Alison Logan and Samir Younes, and a team of specialist lawyers from across the firm's energy and infrastructure sector group.
The 49.9MW project located in Fife is the second TagEnergy project to be funded by the club of lenders after their initial financing in October 2023. Burges Salmon was the lead legal advisor on the transaction, acting for all three lenders to provide cross-disciplinary expertise on banking, real estate, construction and planning matters.
Graham Soar comments: “It has been a pleasure to have worked once again with Santander UK, Rabobank and Triple Point on this latest project. This is the club’s second financing in four months and highlights the lenders’ confidence in TagEnergy and the attractiveness of energy storage assets to meet the UK’s energy transition.”
Combining sector knowledge with banking and finance expertise, Burges Salmon provides tailored advice from a range of perspectives to support lenders and borrowers on complex financing transactions in the UK and internationally.
