Burges Salmon has been named CSR Firm of the Year at the Bristol Law Society Awards 2016, which took place at the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre on Thursday 13 October 2016.
The Bristol Law Society CSR Firm of the Year accolade is awarded to the firm that has shown notable commitment to supporting causes or projects in the region, and was sponsored by The Law Society this year.
The firm focused its submission on two projects: Bright Sparks and My Wild Street.
Burges Salmon’s CR programme is an intrinsic part of its business. Its focus is on identifying activities where our people can make a real difference in the local community.
By collaborating with a range of organisations, including primary and secondary schools, Envision, IntoUniversity, Ablaze and Avon Wildlife Trust, Burges Salmon builds relationships that have a lasting impact across three main areas: education, community and environment. The firm is also partnered with Fairfield High School through BITC’s Business Class programme.
Burges Salmon’s CR Manager, Catherine Correia, said: “We are really pleased to have been named CSR Firm of the Year and receive such high praise for the CR work that our people right across the firm carry out in Bristol all year round.
“It is thanks to our volunteering policy and culture at Burges Salmon that we have seen engagement figures rise to 56% across the firm. We pride ourselves on this success and giving our people opportunities to use their skills as well as their time to help others locally.”
