Burges Salmon partner John Barnett, who heads the firm’s Private Client Services practice, has been listed in the 2021 eprivateclient 50 Most Influential.
The rankings recognise the key players in the UK and offshore private client practitioner sector, highlighting the depth of talent and breadth of skilled and professional advice available to clients across the world from the private wealth sector. Those named on this year’s list have been chosen by PAM Insight judges based on an open call for nominations from eprivateclient readers and on the achievements, promotions and progress that potential candidates have made in the past 12 months.
John has worked at Burges Salmon for 26 years and, as Head of the firm’s Private Client Services team, he provides tax advice to a wide-range of high-net-worth individuals and many leading banks and other financial institutions. John has a particular focus on entrepreneurial clients, many of whom are not domiciled in the UK or have business or other interests abroad. He chairs the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) Technical Policy and Oversight Committee and is a member of the institute’s governing Council.
John says: “I’m very pleased to be recognised in the 2021 eprivateclient 50 Most Influential rankings. The judges commented upon the strength of our team and the resilience we have shown over the past year – continuing to provide our clients the exceptional level of service for which Burges Salmon is known.”
