Burges Salmon’s Private Wealth team has been nominated for two accolades at the STEP Private Client Awards 2021/22, securing a place on the shortlist in both the ‘Contentious Trusts and Estates Team of the Year (large firm)’ and ‘Private Client Legal Team of the Year (large firm)’ categories.
An international association for practitioners specialising in family inheritance and succession planning, STEP has 20,000 members from a range of professions. Its annual awards, now in its 16th year, celebrate excellence among private client lawyers, accountants and other specialists across the world and are widely recognised as the most prestigious awards in the industry.
John Barnett, Burges Salmon partner and Head of the firm’s Tax, Trust and Family team, says: “It’s wonderful to be named as a finalist in two categories at this year’s STEP Private Client Awards, marking our sixth consecutive non-contentious shortlisting and the second nomination for our contentious team too. The recognition is testament to the commitment and resilience the team has demonstrated over the past year, of which I’m particularly proud, seamlessly continuing to provide our clients with the outstanding level of service for which Burges Salmon is known.”
Justin Briggs, partner in the firm’s Disputes and Litigation team, adds: “I am delighted that Burges Salmon’s Litigation practice has been nominated for the second year in a row for this prestigious award and it is great to see the commitment of our excellent trusts and estates litigators to this important and growing practice area recognised by STEP.”
Winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony set to take place on 23 September 2021.
