The Private Client team from Burges Salmon has been shortlisted in the Law Firm of the Year – London category at the forthcoming Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2015.
The Citywealth Magic Circle Awards are held annually in the Spring to find the best advisors and managers in the global industry. Awards will go to those organisations/individuals that are recognised by peers and clients as demonstrating excellence under criteria including in-depth technical expertise & knowledge of their field; market-leading services; innovative solutions to private client dilemmas; and leadership & vision.
The last 12-18 months have shown a continued trend towards increasingly complex and high value work, represented not least by the standout transaction for the team this year – which was the advice the firm’s International Wealth Structuring team provided to a private banking client on its acquisition of the international wealth management business of a large financial organisation. The acquisition represents a major step forward in the client’s global growth strategy. This was the largest transaction of its type handled by a UK private client legal team, with its complex, multi-jurisdictional nature demanding access to our specialist knowledge of international trust law.
Burges Salmon Private Client partner, Jim Aveline, said: “We are particularly pleased to have been shortlisted in this category, as we feel it represents the work we are conducting for our clients from both a national and international perspective.”
The Citywealth Magic Circle Awards will take place on Thursday 7 May 2015 at the Grange St Pauls Hotel in London.
