Burges Salmon has been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s British Legal Awards 2013, demonstrating the firm’s practice area and sector group expertise.
The first of the finalists is the firm’s Real Estate team, which has been shortlisted in the Property Team of the Year category in a joint entry with the Transport for London legal property team for its work for the Greater London Authority (GLA) on the Regeneration of the Royal Albert Dock in London.
Secondly, the work of the firm’s Corporate Turnaround and Insolvency team in helping the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) safeguard uninterrupted fire protection for Greater London in the summer of 2012 during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the London Olympic and Paralympic Games was recognised in the Restructuring Team of the Year category has been recognised in the Banking, Finance or Restructuring Team of the Year category.
The British Legal Awards, hosted by legal sector publication Legal Week, are designed to celebrate achievement, excellence and innovation in the legal industry. The Awards set out to recognise the important contribution the legal business community makes to the UK economy and also to the wider community. The judging panel for the awards comprises a panel of senior general counsel and other business figures, and the ceremony will take place at Old Billingsgate Market in London on 28 November.
