The Burges Salmon Pensions team has been shortlisted in the Pension Lawyers of the Year category at the forthcoming UK Pensions Awards 2015.
Shortlisted for its innovative client service delivery and overall team performance, the Pensions team has continued to significantly grow its offering to become one of the largest pensions teams in the UK.
Pensions have remained high on the agenda nationally as the industry undergoes significant changes and this, along with the team’s focus on excellent client service, has resulted in sustained growth across the firm's pensions client base.
2014 was a great year for the team:
- In May, expansion was announced with two new appointments to the team. Eve Wallace joined the team as an associate and Zoë Dhenin as a solicitor. Eve was previously at Mayer Brown and has over nine years of experience, specialising in all aspects of pensions law. Zoë trained at Squire Sanders before qualifying at Pitmans and has extensive experience of advising both pension scheme trustees and sponsors on a broad range of pension issues.
- In December, the team announced yet further growth with four new appointments. Crispin Freeman, Charlotte Osmond, Amy Davies and Stacey Yon joined the practice, which followed the sustained growth across the firm’s pension client base. Crispin joined the team as a senior associate from Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co, Charlotte trained at Linklaters and joined as a newly qualified solicitor, Amy and Stacey qualified into the team having completed their training contracts with the firm.
Richard Knight, Head of Pensions at Burges Salmon, said: “Our 40 pensions lawyers now act for over 700 pensions clients, helping us continue to provide a top quality service and to grow further. Pension schemes remain both an exciting and challenging area in which to operate. We are proud to work with our clients and help support them with the opportunities and challenges that they face, with an innovative and committed team that demonstrates real strength and depth.
“We are therefore delighted to have once again been shortlisted for these distinguished Awards.”
