Burges Salmon has been successful in the Advisory Firm of the Year category at the New Energy & Cleantech Awards 2016, having also won the award in 2015.
Advisory Firm of the Year is awarded to the professional advisory firm that has provided real depth of expertise in the sector and given invaluable service to its clients, along with the company that the judges deemed to have planned and executed the best acquisition, merger or fundraising during the past 12 months.
The New Energy & Cleantech Awards recognise those who play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the green energy and cleantech industries, celebrating the companies, entrepreneurs, investors and specialist advisers who are instrumental in the sector.
Burges Salmon is recognised as one of the leading UK firms in energy, particularly renewables. For example, the team announced in March 2015 that it had broken the 2GW barrier in UK solar market, (having advised on over 2GW of solar PV installations in the UK since the introduction of the first feed-in tariff in April 2010) and its work in wind, biomass, storage and marine energy is well known.
Burges Salmon Head of Energy Ross Fairley said: “To win this award two years in a row is a great accolade. It reflects brilliantly on our team and the clients that we are privileged to work with.
“In 2015, we were involved in some of the sector's most interesting and ground-breaking projects, further enhancing our reputation as the adviser to 'first of a kind', complicated, renewable energy projects and deals.'
Burges Salmon has also once again been ranked as one of the top legal advisers - in Clean Energy Pipeline's Clean Energy Europe Finance Guide 2015.
