Burges Salmon has, for the 10th consecutive year, been named as the UK's best legal recruiter at the LawCareers.Net Training & Recruitment Awards (the TARAs).
The firm was awarded with the top prize in the National / Large Regional Law Firm category, seeing off a number of its industry competitors.
Based on the results of an online survey of Burges Salmon trainees and newly-qualified solicitors who have recently gone through the recruitment process, judges were impressed once again with the firm’s trainee recruitment programme. One trainee who took part in the survey commented: 'I received more than one training contract but chose this firm because the quality of the recruitment process made me feel as though I would be valued as a trainee and NQ.'
Burges Salmon offers trainees a six-seat rotation during their training contracts. This is a slightly different approach to the usual four and provides trainees with greater opportunity to try out different areas of practice before they qualify. Burges Salmon also conducts a formal review at the end of each recruitment cycle to allow lessons to be carried through to the following year.
Andrew Burnette, one of Burges Salmon's Trainee Recruitment partners, said: 'It is a truly remarkable achievement for our team to have received this Award for the tenth year in a row. We are delighted with this further recognition, which is a reflection of the excellent trainee experience that our recruitment team continues to provide each year for the firm's trainee solicitors, as evidenced by 100 per cent retention of our trainees qualifying this September.”
Matthew Broadbent, business development director of LawCareers.Net, commented: 'As ever, we have seen many firms battling it out to be recognised as providing a 'best in class' experience to those starting out on a legal career. Our congratulations go to all of the nominees and especially the winners.'
