The notifiable events regime is the ‘advance warning’ system that alerts The Pensions Regulator (TPR) to events that may have an impact on defined benefit occupational pension schemes.

The Department for Work and Pensions produced a set of draft regulations in September 2021 which proposed to introduce new notifiable events for scheme employers. These regulations were originally intended to come into force on 6 April 2022 but have since been delayed until further notice.

In light of recent increased corporate activity that we have been seeing, we have produced this visual aid to act as a reminder of the current employer-related notifiable events.

We hope this is helpful to all employers undertaking business activity where there is a defined benefit occupational pension scheme (and that it is also helpful to Trustees of those schemes).
