Charles focuses his practice on advising technology and digital businesses operating across a number of verticals and their investors on mergers and acquisitions, investments, strategic partnering transactions and spin offs. His clients have included FTSE 100 and Fortune 50 businesses as well as funds and their management teams.

An experienced corporate lawyer he has extensive experience of international (particularly US/UK) transactions and supporting businesses through their lifecycle from raising growth capital through to an exit. Charles has worked at UK, US and Australian law firms. He has been advising in the technology and technology enabled sector for over twenty years and has supported on a number of well known global technology and digital businesses on their M&A activity.

• Advising a European private equity group on platform investments, buy and build, transfer of assets into a continuation vehicle, debt and equity raises, carve outs of non-core businesses and management team incentives.
• Advising a private equity backed business operating globally providing data, expertise and solutions for the global higher education sectors on several acquisitions across the world including corporate carve outs and of AI and data businesses.
• Advising numerous technology businesses, operating across a number of sectors including fintech, on funding rounds (from Series A to pre-IPO), exits (including to FAANGs and US investors) and pre-IPO or exit structuring. 
• Advising a US NASDAQ listed business, home to dozens of digital products and brands used by people all over the world, on M&A, corporate venturing and reorganisations over a number of years.
• Acting for a FTSE 100 listed business on strategic divestments as part of a value creation plan as well as a range of buy and build trnasactions, primarily in the technology and business information space.
• Advising a debt and equity investor into the healthcare and life sciences business on a range of investments in Europe including on the realisation of those investments.
