Silvana is a director in the firm’s Corporate Tax team. She has extensive experience in the area of corporate tax, primarily within the private equity sector, specialises in transactional tax, and provides advice to a diverse range of clients including investors, corporates, and management teams.
Her areas of expertise cover a broad spectrum of M&A, structuring, and advisory tax matters, encompassing both domestic and international contexts. She also advises on structuring of corporate transactions including pre- and post- sale reorganisations
Qualified in Scots law, Silvana is a Chartered Tax Adviser and member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Experience
- Private equity funds, corporate groups, and management teams: Advising on mergers and acquisitions.
- Investment Fund: Advising on the purchase of a multijurisdictional European based business division out of a large listed multinational group.
- JV Partner: Providing the UK specific tax advice in a large multinational restructuring of three separate JV groups with one common JV partner.
- UK Group: Advising a UK based group on the carve out of a division into a separate subsidiary including the granting of IP licences between the entities.
- UK Trading Company: Advising on the demerger of a property business from a trading group in advance of the listing of the trading group.
