Chris is a partner in our Projects team, advising public and private sector customers and contractors on complex commercial transactions and projects. He is an expert in the UK defence sector, having advised on many of the UK’s largest and most strategically significant programmes across the maritime, land, air and space domains.
His expertise includes commercial contracting, public procurement, alternative delivery models and outsourcing. He has in-depth knowledge of:
- Key contractual issues that contribute to the successful delivery of complex projects, including incentivisation, allocation of cost, schedule and performance risk, project governance and control, and change management.
- Commercial and legal issues associated with defence sector contracting, including in relation to the Single Source Contract Regulations, regulated public procurement and MoD DEFCONs and policy.
Experience
- UK Ministry of Defence: Nuclear Submarine Programmes, including design, build, in-service and disposal phases, and infrastructure and capability development.
- UK Ministry of Defence: Skynet 6 Satellite Programme.
- International defence contractors: Acquisition, reorganisation and disposal of regulated UK defence and security businesses.
- UK and multinational contractors: Application of the Defence Reform Act and Single Source Contract Regulations to major UK and international programmes.
