Gillian joined our Corporate Tax team as a director in 2023. With extensive experience in both the legal sector and the Big Four, she has worked in London, Leeds and Singapore. Gillian has been on client secondments to two banks and to a global fintech group.
She is a highly experienced solicitor, and advises on a wide variety of domestic and international tax matters across sectors including financial services, investment management, fintech, and real estate. Her expertise encompasses tax advisory, tax-efficient structuring, and providing tax support on transactions. Additionally, she has experience in advising clients on tax risk and governance matters.
Gillian has written several articles for Tax Journal and for client newsletters, and she previously co-authored the tax chapter in “Derivatives Law and Practice.”

- Fund manager: Advising the termination of a fund and offer made to investors to invest in a second fund.
- Renewables developer: Advising on a significant financing obtained for a battery energy storage system project, including advice on UK withholding tax and the availability of exemptions / reliefs.
- Global fintech group: Advising on the establishment of a new UK holding structure.
- Proprietary trader: Advising on the permanent establishment and social security implications of employees working from different jurisdictions.
- Industrial solutions group: Advising on the UK tax treatment of the acquisition structure for acquiring UK manufacturing targets.
- Global investment group: Advising on VAT and capital allowances in relation to the acquisition of a health club.
