Guy is a senior associate in the firm’s Corporate and M&A team, having joined Burges Salmon from a Magic Circle firm in 2018. He advises both public and private companies on an eclectic collection of matters, many with a cross-border element.
His particular focus relates to public takeovers and equity capital markets, acting for both issuers and investment banks, with significant experience in the financial services and renewable energy sectors.
Guy has worked in transaction teams which have been awarded and shortlisted for M&A Team of the Year (Large Deal) and Capital Markets Team of the Year, respectively, at the British Legal Awards.
Experience
- AOTI, Inc.: Advising the US medical technology group on its £140 million IPO on AIM, which, at admission, was the largest AIM IPO by raise since December 2021.
- FirstGroup plc: Advising the firm’s longstanding client, FirstGroup, on its joint venture with Hitachi in relation to the investment into, and deployment of, up to 1,000 electric buses with a combined value of approximately £200 million.
- Cenkos Securities plc: Advising on the client’s all-share merger with finnCap Group to create Cavendish, a market-leading, full-service advisory firm for growth and investment companies.
- Chelsea Football Club: Advising the Club on its acquisition by a consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital Group, L.P.
- Darwin Bereavement Services Fund: Acting on the client’s acquisition of Memoria’s nationwide portfolio of crematoria and memorial parks.
- ITM Power plc: Acting for the client on its £172 million fundraise, comprising a firm placing of £135 million, an open offer raising £7 million and a subscription of £30 million from, and associated joint venture with, Snam S.p.A.
