Kate is head of practice development for our award-winning Employment team.
Having gained wide experience as a practising employment lawyer earlier in her career, Kate now focuses on developing employment law initiatives for the team’s HR and in-house legal clients and on client relationship management.
In 2023, she was appointed to The Law Society’s Employment Law Committee. She is also an active member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Industrial Law Society.
Kate is currently on a part-time secondment with the CBI focusing on the policy issues arising for its members out of the government’s proposed employment law reforms.
Experience
- Employer handbook to the Employment Rights Bill & beyond: Co-author of this user-friendly guide to the government’s proposed reforms.
- Cost-of-living crisis: Collating and sharing market insights and best practice on how employers were supporting their employees through the cost-of-living crisis.
- Covid toolkit: Produced a toolkit of solutions to keep clients and the wider HR community up to date on employment law issues as they developed throughout the Covid pandemic.
- Employment law trends and themes: Speaker and blogger on employment law trends and their influence HR strategy and thinking. Areas of interest include the government’s employment reforms, the duty to prevent sexual harassment, AI and the role for HR.
- Publications: Regularly writes articles for leading HR publications including People Management and Personnel Today.

- Admitted as a solicitor: England & Wales (1993)
