About

Katherine is a partner in the our Employment team. She has a broad employment practice and advises on the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. She acts for a diverse range of clients, both UK based and international, and in 2022/23 she spent time in house seconded to the employment team at a FTSE 100 energy company for 18 months.

She advises employers on their day-to-day employment issues and has particular experience advising on arrangements for the appointment and termination of senior executives of listed and non-listed companies as well as on sensitive investigations and disputes with employees and trade unions. She also specialises in the employment aspects of complex corporate projects and transactions including the application of TUPE, outsourcings, reorganisations and restructures, collective redundancy exercises and insolvency matters.

Katherine writes and presents regularly on employment law developments. She is an active member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association, providing training to members and contributing to their response to government consultations.

  • FTSE 100 energy company: Advising on day-to-day employment issues, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, performance and absence management, reward and policy queries, and diversity and inclusion matters.
  • FTSE 100 company in the built environment sector: Advising on the appointment and departure of its CEO and CFO.
  • Global financial services institution: Advising on the employment issues arising in the context of an SFO investigation.
  • Major recycling, resource and waste management company: Advising on the employment strategy for its national restructuring and redundancy proposals.
  • HM Treasury subsidiary: Advising on multiple disposals, including the outsourcing of its mortgage servicing operations and the transfer of 1,700 employees.
  • Aviation fuel supplier: Advising on a high-profile trade dispute over proposed changes to the terms and conditions of employment for new hires.
