Kerry is a financial services regulatory lawyer and has specialised in financial services since qualification in 1998.
Prior to Burges Salmon, Kerry trained at a top City firm, where her early interest in banking litigation developed during her time as an NQ when she undertook a year-long secondment to the Bank of England’s banking litigation team which later that year moved to the newly formed FSA. Kerry also has several years of experience in general commercial litigation, particularly professional negligence, with a top regional firm. Most recently, Kerry has spent a lengthy period living offshore (Channel Islands) gaining experience as a PSL in private practice roles with top tier offshore firms, as an in-house counsel for a number of financial services industry licensees, and as in-house counsel for the GFSC, Guernsey’s financial services industry regulator.
Kerry’s role as Professional Development Lawyer for the FS Sector will be focused on both internal and external FS Sector initiatives including: horizon scanning and monitoring developments in this rapidly developing area, disseminating knowledge and information throughout the FS Sector, internal and external training initiatives and assisting with business development projects.
