About

Liz specialises in development, in particular renewable energy, infrastructure and major redevelopment projects. She advises on planning applications and appeals, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and Developments of National Significance in Wales and regularly appears for developers at DCO hearings and public inquiries.

She is a member of the RTPI and the Law Society’s Planning Panel, and is recognised as a leader in her field by Chambers. She sits on Renewable UK’s Cymru Strategy Board and was a founder member of Entrepreneurial Women in Renewable Energy. Liz also sits on Burges Salmon’s Strategic Board.

Experience

  • Offshore wind: Advising and leading the examination for numerous DCO offshore wind projects across the UK including R4 Mona and Morgan, Awel y Mor, Sofia, Triton Knoll and Kentish Flats Extension.
  • Onshore wind: Advising on Developments of National Significance across Wales, including for Bute Energy, RWE, and Dragon Energy.
  • Solar and storage: Advising on the development of solar and storage projects across a range of consenting regimes, including TCPA, DNS and DCO.
  • Other DCO: Advising on the promotion of a range of nationally significant infrastructure projects including grid connections, new nuclear and highways.
  • Water infrastructure and SROs: Advising on the development of strategic water resource projects, including multi-party transfer and storage projects.
