Lucy Owens

About

Lucy is a director in our Projects team who acts for clients on major projects and complex commercial transactions, with a focus on the defence and aerospace sectors.

She has extensive experience of advising both public and private sector clients throughout the full project lifecycle, including supporting clients to develop a commercial strategy, advising on the structuring of complex projects and transactions and advising on the development of contractual arrangements and associated commercial and legal issues including pricing, payment and incentivisation, risk allocation and liability.

She also has experience of advising on multi-party transactions, partnering, alliancing and other collaborative structures, and assisting with project mobilisation, transition, and ongoing contract management.

Lucy has particular experience of advising the UK Ministry of Defence on major strategic defence programmes, and as a result has a deep understanding of the issues faced by customers and suppliers in this sector and a detailed knowledge of defence contracting principles, including standard contracts, specimen clauses and DEFCONs, UK MOD commercial policy, and the Single Source Contract Regulations.
