Will trained at Burges Salmon and qualified into the Corporate and M&A team in September 2023. He has experience advising a range of clients, including both private and public companies, funds and private individuals, on a variety of matters. These include mergers and acquisitions (private and public), joint ventures, equity investments and group reorganisations.
He has a particular interest in, and has gained good experience with, the energy sector. He has advised a variety of clients in the space including utilities, developers, investors and funds across a wide range of clean energy technologies, including solar, wind (both onshore and offshore), storage, hydrogen, geothermal, nuclear and anaerobic digestion.
Will also has experience advising clients on cross-border transactions.
Experience
- ENGIE: Advising the French multinational utility company, ENGIE, on its £64.8 million acquisition of a leading biomethane producer in the UK.
- EDF Energy: Advising EDF on the £25 million sale of its gas storage portfolio to Kistos Holdings plc.
- Atrato: Advising the publicly listed investment company, Atrato, on its £38 million acquisition of a 50 megawatt ready-to-build solar project in North Yorkshire.
- Major offshore windfarm developer: Advising on the proposed sell-down of a minority stake in a large offshore windfarm, including coordinating the vendor-side due diligence exercise on the project.
- Schenk Tanktransport: Advising Schenk Tanktransport, one of the leading tank transport companies in Northwest Europe, on the acquisition of Suttons Tankers, a well-established UK road tanker logistics provider.
- Various start-up and scale-up companies: Advising a range of companies at all stages of the corporate lifecycle on investment and fundraising rounds, including acting for both the investee company and the investor.
