Overview

Andrew is an associate in the firm’s energy projects team, with a particular focus on renewables and infrastructure projects. Andrew has a broad range of experience advising developers, funders, licensed suppliers, major energy users and Government on all aspects of projects, regulation, commercial agreements and project finance transactions in the net zero, energy and waste sectors.

Andrew has in-house experience following a seven month secondment at ENGIE UK. 

Experience
  • Acting for the Cayman Islands Government on the PPP contractual arrangements for an all-islands waste treatment solution, including an energy from waste facility on Grand Cayman and remediation of existing landfills.
  • Advising Bristol City Council on its innovative Bristol City Leap initiative, pursuant to which the Council appointed a strategic partner to deliver on a programme of energy and infrastructure investment opportunities to achieve net zero targets, delivering more than £1 billion of investment.
  • Undertaking numerous due diligence exercises for both investors and developers in respect of the financing of mixed technology multi-asset energy projects, including reviewing contractual arrangements (PPAs, RTMAs, grid connection agreements, grid sharing agreements, service agreements, fuel supply agreements), drafting transactional documents and providing advice in relation to bankability, commercial issues and government incentives.
  • Advising a green hydrogen developer on the acquisition of a mixed technology green hydrogen project, including in relation to the grid connection and electricity supply arrangements.
  • Advising on the development and negotiation of offtake/revenue arrangements including corporate/virtual PPAs, route to market agreements and government incentives.
