Luke qualified into the employment team in 2004 following the completion of his training contract with the firm and became a partner in 2014.

Luke advises employers and employees in both the public and private sectors on a full range of contentious and non-contentious employment law related matters.

Luke is a member of the Employment Lawyers' Association and the Industrial Law Society. He is a regular speaker at external seminars and events across the UK.

  • Advising Babcock International Group plc on the employment aspects of the acquisition of DSG including the transfer of c. 3,000 employees from part of the Ministry of Defence.
  • Advising Wex Inc. on the industrial relations and employment aspects of a joint venture and acquisition across nine jurisdictions including the UK.
  • Acting for a FTSE 100 company in successfully defending a multi-party discrimination claim listed for a ten day hearing.
  • Advising a UK passenger rail operator on the employment aspects of various franchise mobilisations and demobilisations involving the large-scale transfer of employees under TUPE and associated industrial action issues.
  • Advising a number of FTSE 100 companies on the implications of the recent landmark cases relating to holiday pay. Advising on major restructuring, redundancy and changes to terms and conditions exercises, including site closures and business relocations.
  • Advising on dismissals and negotiated departures of senior management and board members.
