Nick Middleton Director

Nick is a director within our Banking and Finance team. Nick has extensive banking and finance experience across a number of sectors and at a range of debt levels, with a particular specialism in distressed lending, restructuring and insolvency. Nick has worked with a broad range of borrowers and lenders across the full debt life-cycle – from origination and coverage through to refinance or recovery.

• Advised FRP Advisory, Wasps Holdings Limited and the ACL Companies on the administration of the Wasps Holdings Group including the sale of the Coventry Building Society Arena and matters relating to Wasps RFC.
• Advised PwC, as joint administrators of C4C 2022 Limited, on the administration and sale of Frugi, the children’s clothing retailer.
• Acting for the Clarks group on the restructuring of its senior secured revolving credit facility and its senior secured notes in the context of the £100m equity investment by LionRock into the Clarks Group. The debt restructuring was also carried out alongside a Company Voluntary Arrangement and a wider group reorganisation.
• Supporting the lenders to an operational biomass plant project with detailed contingency and enforcement planning advice, and subsequently advising on the restructuring and administration of that project which culminated in a successful exit from administration for the project via a credit bid.
