Philip Beer Partner

Philip is a highly experienced real estate lawyer who specialises in advising both public and private sector clients on major regeneration and redevelopment projects and the real estate aspects of large scale energy and infrastructure deals – particularly in the rail and nuclear industries.

Philip is a member of the Development Committee of the British Property Federation. For the last few years, Philip has chaired the annual UK Stations & Property Summit (held in London every February). This summit drives the thinking about city/town centre regeneration by making the most of land/assets at and around railway stations.

Philip is also head of the firm's Asia Pacific team, which advises clients on inward investment deals into the UK, particularly in the real estate and energy sectors.

• Leading the team advising Transport for Wales/Welsh Government on the transfer of the Core Valley Lines (87 miles of track, land, infrastructure, people and operational railway assets) from Network Rail to Transport for Wales – a first of a kind, award-winning transaction.
• Advising the Greater London Authority on the procurement of development partners for the mixed-use/housing-led regeneration of a number of sites in the Royal Docks in east London with a total GDV in excess of £3billion.
• Advising YTL Developments on its acquisition and regeneration of the former Filton airfield (the birthplace of Concorde) with the a new urban community comprising 2,675 houses, a new retail/town centre, a new Arena for the south-west region and 24 hectares of employment space.
• Leading the team advising the Transport for London Group on oversite development projects and the real estate elements of infrastructure projects.
• Advising ENGIE on its plans to regenerate the land that comprised its former Rugeley Power Station for a new low carbon mixed use neighbourhood including 2,300 new low carbon homes and a new low carbon All Through School.
