Ben is a director in the dispute resolution team, specialising in health & safety. He works with his colleagues to help clients arrive at the right solution to their issue, minimising impact and maximising success. He is supported by our extensive dispute resolution practice with a proven track record in the highest-profile cases and cross-border, multi-sector expertise.
Ben advises on large scale investigations, inquests and inquiries. He has particular expertise in incident response, criminal safety investigations and prosecutions, inquests and regulatory compliance issues. Ben advises across a range of sectors with a particular specialism in rail matters. Ben also has experience of advising on wide range of regulatory matters including policy, authorisations/approvals and exemptions.
Ben has worked for two health and safety regulators, working in-house for the rail regulator for over three years and separately advising and acting on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive for over a year.
He has a background in general crime and previous experience with sports regulation, specifically anti-doping matters working in-house at the UK’s anti-doping regulator.
Ben originally qualified as a solicitor in general crime and acted for defendants at every stage of the criminal justice system from the police station through to the Court of Appeal.
