Emily Scaife Partner

Emily is a Partner in our Banking and Finance team. She has experience working on a wide range of banking and finance issues with a particular emphasis on complex corporate restructuring and insolvency matters in the private and public sectors.

Emily acts for key stakeholders including investors, companies, management teams, insolvency practitioners, regulators and pension trustees on both domestic and cross border distressed matters.

Emily is a member of R3, TMA and IWIRC and is also a member of TMA’s UK Network of Women committee. She is recognised as a 'Next Generation Partner' by Legal 500 and was featured in INSOL International’s Young Practitioner Spotlight 2022.

• Advised Craigard Care Limited and its joint administrators from FRP Advisory on the pre-pack sales of Craigard Care’s business and assets, as operated from three care homes based in the North East of Scotland.
• Advised administrators from James Cowper Kreston on the administration and subsequent sale of a student accommodation business in Newcastle.
• Advised administrators from Milsted Langdon on the administration of Bournemouth Transport Limited including a sale of certain assets to National Express.
• Advised administrators from FTI Consulting on the administration and sale of Cote Restaurants to a buyer backed by Partners Group.
• Advised Bakers + Baristas on its company voluntary arrangement.
• Advised Adelie Foods throughout its accelerated M&A process and subsequently advised administrators from Deloitte on a number of asset sales.
• Advised the Group and subsequently administrators from FRP Advisory on a restructuring including the trading administration of aerospace composite manufacturer, Tods Aerospace, resulting in the sale of part of the business to Cobham.
• Advised the lenders of a £22m project finance facility on the restructuring of a biomass plant involving an administration and subsequent credit bid of the borrower.
• Advised Causeway Capital Partners on its acquisition of the business and assets of Patisserie Valerie out of administration.
• Advised Administrators from BDO on the administration of Bathstore.com including the sale of certain assets to Homebase.
• Acted for Financial Services Compensation Scheme Limited as representative of the 'Exiting Creditors' in the 2018 High Court and Court of Appeal cases relating to the MF Global UK CVA.
• Acted for Agent Provocateur Limited in connection with its pre-pack administration sale and the subsequent wind down and restructuring of its international business located across 19 countries.
