Overview

Nisha is a director in the firm’s corporate team with core expertise in transactional intellectual property and commercial contracts.

She has specialist and sector expertise in R&D, engineering and manufacture and has an excellent understanding of the legal and commercial challenges within the field, having spent several years in-house in both industry and the public sector.

Nisha also has expertise in IP licensing and branding having given strategic advice on and managed global trade mark portfolios for household brands.

She regularly advises on the creation, development, protection, management and exploitation of commercial intellectual property and supports businesses on a broad range of matters, including:

  • IP licensing arrangements;
  • R&D collaboration agreements; and
  • manufacturing and distribution arrangements.
Experience
  • Providing IP advice and support to Bristol City Council on its ‘City Leap’ initiative towards its ambition to make Bristol a carbon-neutral city by 2050.
  • Acting for the University of Bristol and the National Composite Centre (NCC) in its collaboration agreements.
  • Advising the UK Atomic Energy Authority on IP modelling and structuring in relation to a key strategic project.
  • Reviewing the IP provisions of a major government procurement contract in order to identify ownership and usage of critical intellectual property rights and providing strategic advice on its application for use by a replacement supplier.
