Sarah specialises in complex financial settlements on divorce and pre and post marital agreements. She handles cases with significant and/or complex assets, income, corporate or trust issues with international elements. She has experience of complex High Court litigation, but always seeks to resolve cases without litigation where possible.
Sarah is ranked in Legal 500 Bristol and London tables, as well as Chambers UK and Chambers HNW directories. She is known for her expertise in pensions on divorce, sitting on Resolution’s Financial Remedies, Tax and Pension Committee. She is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, co-chairing the IAFL Pensions Committee.
She was part of the Family Justice Council's Working Party on Needs, which produced the “Guidance on Financial Needs on Divorce” for the judiciary and is a member of the Pensions Advisory Group, which produced a report on pensions on divorce. She has also contributed divorce-related articles in the Financial Times. She currently sits on the Family Justice Council’s Financial Remedies Group.
Sarah is also a member of the Duxbury Working Party, which produced a key report on capitalisation of spousal maintenance in November 2024.
Sarah is also included in the very selective list of Family Law Experts in Tatler’s Address Book, as well as being one of Spear’s recommended Family Lawyers for 2024, having previously been named as one of their six top Family Lawyers who practice outside London. Sarah works in both London and the South West.
